This section gives regular features on research and teaching in the North East. 

We are currently responding to the recent Equality Challenge Unit report on LGBT experiences in HE. This came out in April 2010 and heralds a new consensus on the treatment of students and staff at UK universities who identify as LGBT.  Information can be found at: http://www.ecu.ac.uk/news/ecu-urges-vice-chancellors-to-deliver-lesbian-gay-and-bisexual-equality and we have been working to an action plan based on these findings.
